We are an online Toys and Games Store in Singapore

Hello guys! It’s been quite a while since we last wrote a blog post, it has been a hectic couple of months for all of us here at Toy Galería. The pandemic indeed affected all of our lives, and we are still trying to adapt to the new norms. But without further ado, let’s get started on today’s blog post!

In today’s blog post, we will be sharing more of our brand story and some of the products that we carry. So if you are interested to know more about us, please read on! :)

Personally, we have always been a huge fan of figures, tabletop games, plushies, and of course, cute lifestyle products! In particular, we loved Playmobil, Noodoll, Pusheen, Smoko, and many more! We used to have a lifestyle retail shop (under another shop name) at one of the shopping malls in Singapore, however, due to the high cost to maintain a retail shop; we have decided to move online entirely. We are, however, hopeful to return to the retail scene someday.

During our tenure in having a retail shop, we saw many of our favourite products actually have knockoffs! And prices of the knockoffs are usually lower, this, in turn, affected us, as some customers might not realise they are knock offs. In a world where consumer goods are easily attainable, and knockoffs are everywhere, authentic products are likely saturated. This becomes increasingly difficult for small businesses like us to sustain in an already ultra-competitive scene. We are not just competing with other shops that have similar merchandise, but also with the knockoffs in the market.

Thus, Toy Galería was founded a couple of years back. We decided to move to online entirely and offer only authentic toys and games to our customers. So the first question now is, why toys and games? Of all the products in the world, why did we choose toys and games as our anchor products for our new online store? The reason is simple because we believe toys and games bring happiness and joy. We want to bring joy and happiness to all of our customers!

Then comes the next question, isn’t Ecommerce even more competitive and stressful than retail? Well, in our opinion, the answer is yes and, not so as compared to retail, it depends on how do you see it. Yes, because, as a relatively new player in the e-commerce scene, we have to start everything from scratch, that is building a website, marketing, learn about logistics, and fulfilling orders, etc.

The process of setting up your own online store is relatively easy, considering there are many web-building tools available right now. But the real challenges are seeing hundreds and thousands of businesses selling similar products as us; we have to constantly be active on Instagram, Facebook, and other platforms to be visible to consumers.

On the other hand, eCommerce is not so stressful compared to retail, simply because of one single reason - high costs. It’s no secret that having a retail shop incurred high costs such as monthly rental, salaries, operating expenses, equipment, and the list goes on. Whether or not your profit can cover these costs, you have to pay for it when it’s time to do so, in our humble opinion, this is the most stressful part of having a retail shop. Of course, it is arguable that eCommerce requires huge marketing capital as well.

So now, as mentioned, there are many businesses offering similar products, what makes Toy Galería stands out? As an online toys and games store, we want you to shop with us with confidence, and thus Toy Galería created a return policy for you. In addition to it, we want you to only pay for the product, but not the shipping costs. Toy Galería will absorb all shipping fees for eligible Singapore address. By doing this, we hope to mirror a retail experience in terms of the product’s cost for you.

By now, we hope you have known us better; feel free to reach out to us if you want to know us more! We will be happy to share it with you. :)

This blog post is getting a little longer than usual, we shall leave the introduction of our products to the subsequent blogposts. Stay tuned! Meanwhile, stay safe and healthy! Cheers!
